Hasidim in Uman break record

The Ukrainian Interior Department in the Cherkassy Oblast announced the number of foreign guests in the Ukrainian city.

This year the holiday of Rosh Hashanah gathered a record number of Hasidim in Uman, almost 30,000, Ukrinform writes, citing a press release by the Interior Department of Ukraine in the Cherkassy Oblast.

“This year a record number of foreign guests came to celebrate this year in Uman – 29,490 people, while last year there were just over 20,000 pilgrims,” the press release states.

15 police officers from Israel travelled to Uman to provide assistance to Ukrainian law-enforcement officers in maintaining order during the celebration.

The holiday continued until Tuesday, the 15th of September.
