Christian agency becomes involved in repatriation of ukrainian jews to Israel

At Ben-Gurion international airport, they were met by Israeli foreign minister Avigdor Liberman, absorption minister Sofa Landver and the chairman of the Jewish agency Natan Sharansky.

The curator of the program Yechiel Eckstein said that adult Ukrainians who make Aliyah by the end of the year will receive material aid of $1,000 and $500 for each child.

“We need to convince them in whatever way we can that there’s no such thing as a Jewish refugee as long as the State of Israel exists, and that there are groups of people enthusiastic to help them get there,” said Eckstein

According to Eckstein, the next plane of repatriates from Ukraine is planned for 30 December, and from January planes will arrive at least once a month.

The “Fellowship Aliya” program works with the Jewish agency and state bodies on issues of Aliyah.
According to data from the Jewish agency, over 200,000 people live in Ukraine who have the right to repatriation. In 2014, over 5,000 Ukrainians emigrated to Israel, 174% more than in the previous year.
