Hasidim in Uman break record
This year the holiday of Rosh Hashanah gathered a record number of Hasidim in Uman, almost 30,000, Ukrinform writes, citing a press release by the Interior Department of Ukraine in the Cherkassy Oblast.
“This year a record number of foreign guests came to celebrate this year in Uman – 29,490 people, while last year there were just over 20,000 pilgrims,” the press release states.
15 police officers from Israel travelled to Uman to provide assistance to Ukrainian law-enforcement officers in maintaining order during the celebration.
The holiday continued until Tuesday, the 15th of September.
