Ukrainian repatriates exceed Americans in number
Anti-Semitism and economic problems led to an increase in repatriation to Israel from France. The number of French immigrants in January-November 2014 was 6,655 people, 139% more than in the equivalent period last year. The Jewish agency forecasts that this year the number of French Jews making aliyah may exceed 7,000, while the French community numbers 500,000.
Emigration from the USA to Israel for the first 11 months of the year increased by 11%, to 2,920 people, in comparison with the equivalent period last year.
In total, 23,400 people were repatriated to Israel from January to November – 36% more than in 2013.
