A three-day field camp dedicated to researching Jewish heritage, “Stones of Memory,” will take place in Kosiv, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, on October 19–21, 2026. The program’s organizers announced this.
Young people aged 18 to 30 who are interested in Ukraine’s history and cultural heritage are invited to participate. The program includes lectures and practical workshops on Jewish history and heritage in Ukraine, field research at the Jewish cemetery in Kosiv, as well as tours of locations in the Kosiv region and Hutsulshchyna.
The camp is organized by ESJF—the European Jewish Cemeteries Initiative—in partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Kosiv City Council and the International Interdisciplinary Certificate Program in Jewish Studies. Participation in the program is free of charge; the organizers will provide accommodation, meals, and transportation specified in the program.
Participants are responsible for covering their own travel to Kosiv. The camp will begin at 11:00 a.m. on October 19, and after the program concludes on October 21, participants must arrange their own return from Ivano-Frankivsk after 8:00 p.m. Registration is open until September 5 via this link. Participation confirmations will be sent by September 10, 2026. The event is held with financial support from the German Federal Foreign Office.
