The first bell ceremony was held at the Chabad Lyceum in Odesa, marking the start of the 5787 school year. Chabad Odesa reported this.
The report noted that the celebration took place despite air-raid alerts and the war. The opening ceremony featured words of blessing from Rabbi Avraham Wolf, Chief Rabbi of Odesa and Southern Ukraine, as well as an address by Principal Maryna Samuilivna Shliepakova.
The sound of the shofar and a gift briefcase for each new student joining the lyceum family were among the highlights of the event. Chabad Odesa wished everyone success in their studies in tranquility and peace.
