From August 18 to 25, the Migdal Jewish Community Center in Odesa held a family camp in the Carpathians. This year’s theme was “Jews of the Diaspora,” and participants learned about the diversity of Jewish communities around the world, their traditions, culture, cuisine, and ways of life. Migdal reported this.

During the camp, families took trips through the Carpathians and participated in educational programs led by madrichim, creative workshops, sports activities, and evening events. For the third consecutive year, participants also took part in a detective quest prepared and conducted independently by teenagers.

Shabbat and Havdalah were among the special events. According to the organizers, they gave participants an opportunity to pause, spend time together, and experience the strength of Jewish tradition and community. Migdal noted that for families from Odesa, the week was an opportunity to briefly leave behind their daily worries, relax, and spend time in a peaceful place among like-minded people.

The organization also quoted the following words: “Jews are so different, but we all have one Torah and one Israel.”
